FAQs

I specialize in digestive disorders. I primarily work with gastroparesis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, chronic diarrhea, chronic constipation, gas/bloating, pancreatitis, diverticulosis/diverticulitis, nausea/vomiting, reflux/GERD, colitis, bowel resections/surgeries and gastritis. If you are unsure about your diagnosis, send me a message.

We’ll start by discussing your current symptoms, medications, recent testing (if applicable), and diagnosis. I’ll ask you to share information about your current food choices, followed by my dietary recommendations. During our partnership, I’ll help you develop realistic dietary strategies designed around your food preferences, grocery budget, and cooking abilities. You will be provided detailed notes/educational materials following our appointment.

Yes. I use a HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform for telemedicine . I promise, it really is easy to use, but if we have technology-related issues, I will call you. The majority of my appointments are by telemedicine.

Yes, I do, on a more limited basis than my virtual appointments. My office is located near I-435 and Nall in the Creative Planning campus. The address is 5440 West 110th Street, Suite 300, Overland Park, Kansas 66211.

Most initial consultations last an hour. Allow thirty minutes for follow-up appointments.

The initial consult (60 minutes) is $160. Follow up appointments (30 minutes) are $75 each. If you haven’t been seen in over six months, a new consult is required.

This varies from patient to patient. Count on a minimum of two appointments.

Telemedicine/phone appointments are credit card only (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX). I also accept HSA/FSA cards. In-person appointments I will accept cash, check, or credit card.
I do not accept insurance. I would be happy to provide a detailed superbill for you to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement if you are interested.
Every dietitian is a nutritionist, but not every nutritionist is a dietitian.

A registered dietitian is a credentialed professional, which means that upon our completion of a bachelor’s degree, we are required to complete 1,200 supervised practice hours (also known as a dietetic internship) and pass a national exam. Registered dietitians are also required to be licensed in every state in which we practice. I am currently licensed in Kansas, Missouri and South Carolina, and annually, I am required to complete 15 hours of professional development to maintain my certifications.
MS= Master’s of Science
RD = Registered Dietitian
CSDH = Certified Specialist in Digestive Health
LD = Licensed Dietitian

Please cancel with 24 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a $50 fee.

Not necessarily, but I do provide patients with numerous meal and snack ideas based on the dietary recommendations I provide.

Yes, I do. I enjoy speaking to large groups from physicians to students to interns to interested community groups. I have also done several television segments on local Kansas City news stations. Send me a message for inquiries.

I only see ages 18+.

I can only see patients that reside in states that I am licensed (Kansas, Missouri and South Carolina).
